Volt Charge Wins Australian Good Design Award for Product Design Excellence

Volt Charge, a subsidiary of JAT Holdings PLC, has won the 2025 Australian Good Design Award in the Product Design category — one of the world's most respected international design honours — for its Level 2 EV Charger. The product was designed and engineered entirely in Sri Lanka.
The Australian Good Design Awards, founded in 1958, recognise excellence in design and innovation across a broad range of disciplines. Winning in the Product Design category places Volt Charge's Level 2 charger among a highly selective group of products assessed by an international jury of design professionals.
The Jury's Verdict
The international jury recognised the Level 2 charger for combining aesthetic ambition with engineering substance. In their assessment, the panel described the product as featuring:
"Elegant design with intelligent technology to deliver a safe, efficient, and highly customizable experience — an outstanding contribution to good design."
What the Charger Delivers
The award-winning Level 2 EV Charger integrates four distinguishing capabilities:

- Customisable colour options — the charger can be specified in a range of finishes to suit residential and commercial installations alike.
- Modern aesthetic design — a considered visual identity that integrates with contemporary architecture rather than treating the charger as purely functional hardware.
The charger is available in 7kW, 11kW, and 22kW variants to suit different installation requirements, from home garages to commercial car parks and hospitality venues.
Sri Lankan Innovation Recognised Internationally
For Volt Charge, the award carries significance beyond the product itself. Sri Lanka has historically imported most of its technology hardware; a locally designed EV charger competing on international design merit represents a shift in what the country's engineering and product development community is capable of delivering.
